Signature American Watercolor Exhibition 2011

Sponsored by The Fallbrook Art Center

Juror: Linda Doll, AWS, NWS

Quake was again juried into a very competitive show, one in which only Signature Members of nationally recognized watercolor societies are eligible to enter.

Juried in mid December, Awards will be announced at the formal opening, February 6, 2011 at the Art Center in Fallbrook, CA.

The Show will close on March 13th.

2010 JURIED EXHIBITS ENTERED AND ACCEPTED

The Artist's Magazine's 27th Annual Art Competition

Juror: the magazine editor and staff

Total winners: 3300 submitted for selection in 5 divisions of art, of which only 30 were winners.

Quake was one of six winning paintings in the Abstract Experimental Division, with over 800 entries. The Competition was featured in the Artist's Magazine's December 2010 issue.

San Diego Watercolor Society 30th International Exhibit

Juror: Pat Dews AWS, NWS

Quake received the Andy Hedekin Award in this prestigious International Exhibition – the third year in a row that Helen’s entry has been accepted. Helen also earned SDWS Signature Membership.

The Exhibition was held at the SDWS Gallery in Liberty Station.

Pittsburgh Watercolor Society 64th Aqueous Open International

Juror: Don Andrews, AWS Awards to be announced.

Journey became Helen’s second successful entry into an Aqueous International which is held in her childhood home town, and she also won the Newton & Windsor Awards, a lovely plein air watercolor set.

The Exhibition at Fein Art Gallery in Pittsburgh will close on October 1.

Alaska Watercolor Society 36th Annual Juried Exhibition

Juror: Linda Doll AWS, NWS

Life Force - principally a black, white and gray painting with a splash of red - received First Honorable Mention.

The Exhibition will be open until November 21st in the Anchorage Museum at the Rasmusson Center.

Southwestern Watercolor Society 47th Annual Member Exhibition

Juror: Katherine Chang Liu, NWS

Game Plan, Helen’s first time entry into the SWS Juried Exhibition, received the Glen Martin Award. The Southwestern WS Show will be open until September 25th at the Art Center in Plano, Texas.

International Society of Acrylic Painters

Juror: Gerald F. Brommer NWS, AWS

Spring Forward, was selected by the juror for this exclusively acrylic medium, Open International Exhibition. The Show was held in the Santa Cruz CA Art League Gallery.

San Diego Watercolor Society July Award Show

Juror: Linda Doll AWS, NWS

Veiled Promise received Honorable Mention with a cash Award.

The Show was open during July in the SDWS Gallery at Liberty Station

North County Society of Fine Arts 12th Annual Competition

Sally Clark, Juror

Journey: This show featured separate Awards in four categories of visual arts: (1) oil and acrylic on canvas; (2) watercolor and acrylic under glass, framed; (3) pen and ink, photography, prints and drawings; (4) pastels and collage. Journey was awarded Best of Show.

The March exhibit was held at the Poway (CA) Center for Performing Arts

Rocky Mountain National Watermedia 36th Exhibition

Spring Forward : first-time entered into any Show, it was one of 88 paintings selected from 581 entries. The Exhibit was held at the Foothills Art Center in Golden, CO.

San Diego Watercolor Society 29th International Exhibit

International Society of Acrylic Painters 12th Exhibition

Study in Aquamarine: The exhibit was held at the Santa Cruz (CA) Art League Gallery.  Helen was awarded signature membership by ISAP.  

Northwest Watercolor Society 69th Open Exhibition

Journey: selected by juror on its first entry into any exhibit.  The Exhibit was held at the Mercer Gallery, Mercer Island, WA.  Helen was awarded signature membership by NWS.  

Texas Watercolor Society 60th Annual Exhibit

Study in Aquamarine:  one of 60 selected from nearly 500 entries.  The Exhibit was held at The Witte Museum, San Antonio, Texas. Helen was awarded signature membership by TWS. 

California Watercolor Association 40th National Exhibition

Coal Country : one of 100 selected for this large show, the Exhibit was held at the Presidio Officers’ Club in San Francisco early 2009.
