In May of 2004 I was happily preparing to get married – doing bridal things like selecting wedding invitations and preparing the lists necessary to mail them on time.
My husband-to-be, Mike, still lived in Cincinnati – but we conversed every evening.
One evening he mentioned that he had seen these rather handsome stamps that he considered very appropriate for wedding invitations. I suggested he buy some and send them to me, which he did. They were perfect.
We were married on September the 11th that year. Some months later I ran across a few of the stamps left over and decided to incorporate them as collage in a painting.
In a very large painting, the pieces of the little stamps would get lost – so, I painted a miniature – something I seldom do. Painted with love in my mind and heart, I named it Wedding Stamp.
